NEW HONDA PS125i SCOOTER
02 December 2005
Honda have released pictures and technical details on a new-for-2006 scooter, called the PS125i.
The scooter is available with two engine sizes, a 125cc and 150cc four stroke, PGM fuel injected motor. Both are designed to meet Euro 3 emissions regs and be ultra economical with unleaded to appeal to commuter riders.
The scooter is liquid cooled and the radiator is set in the front fairing section of the bodywork. The bodywork is slightly wider than usual for better weather protection. There's room under the seat to store a full face lid and there's a built in rear rack too.
The
scooter runs the Honda Combined braking system, which links the
front and rear brakes, but only on the rear brake lever.
Interestingly, there's no mention of any visible anti-theft mechanism, beyond an optional U type lock, despite scooter theft in UK cities and towns being an ever growing problem.
When you consider that you can buy a disc lock, with an audible alarm, for as little as ¡Ó@êÓ860, you really wonder why scooter manufacturers seem unwilling to do anything constructive about deterring would-be scooter thieves.
There's no word on the UK price of the new PS125i and PS150i models as yet.
